Harvard Engineers Create the First Fully 3D-Printed Heart-on-a-Chip

The First 3D-Printed Heart on a Chip
The heart-on-a-chip is made entirely using multimaterial 3D printing in a single automated procedure, integrating six custom printing inks at micrometer resolution.

DARPA is developing implant to monitor brain in real time

In a bid to improve the mental health of soldiers and veterans, DARPA has launched a $70 million project to create an implant that tracks neuron activity and provides quantifiable brain data.

Researchers Grow 3-D Human Brain Tissues from Stem Cell

Researchers have grown brain tissue with distinct regions that mimic different functional structures of the developing brain.
PARIS-AFP scientists said on Wednesday that

Control Other People's Mind with the New Human brain-to-brain Interface.

The first human-to-human, brain-to-brain noninvasive interface has been created by researchers at the University of Washington. The system allows one researcher to remotely control the hand of another researcher, across the internet, merely by thinking about moving his hand. The researchers are

Glow-in-the-Dark-Rabbits

When i first read this news headline, i thought it was
fiction, just like the glowing rats in the
comedy movie "Senseless" but I was wrong.
Glowing bunnies or rabbits are a successful early step in a project aimed at engineering mammals that produce medicines

Monitor your heart rate using just underwear with the new wearable electrodes developed by NTT Japan

Japan telecommunication giant, NTT has developed wearable textile
electrodes which can be worn on the
inside of a shirt, and can continuously
monitor the electrical activity of the
heart over an extended period of
time.
The wearable electrodes are
fabricated from a conductive fiber,
consisting of a silk or a synthetic fibre
core coated with a conductive
polymer called PEDOT-PSS.
To Watch the video, Click or touch here:
This conductive polymer has excellent
biocompatibility, and can deliver ECG
measurements with a stability
equivalent to that of conventional
medical electrodes, without the need
for attaching the electrodes to the skin
with an electrolyte paste or gel.
As the textile electrodes are soft to the
touch, flexible and breathable, long
term monitoring which places no
burden on the wearer is now
possible. Studies conducted by NTT
showed no signs of skin irritation or
contact dermatitis after long-term use.

NTT now plans to conduct further
experimentation, this time with 100
wearers, to further investigate their
safety and effectiveness.
In the future, these wearable
electrodes could be used to aid home
or remote medical care, reducing the
risk of heart attack through early
detection and treatment of heart
irregularities, or in fields such as
sports, general fitness and scientific
research.
